Access control and visitor management solution for Children's Hospital 1

Children’s Hospital 1 in Ho Chi Minh City is a leading pediatric hospital in the Southern region and nationwide.

However, the hospital’s infrastructure, having been used for a long time, cannot meet the demands of the operation and the growth of a large healthcare institution. The overcrowding of patients has led to chaos and difficulty in controlling the influx and outflow of people within the buildings. Details:

  • Due to the large number of people entering and leaving the hospital per day and still using the manual-paper registration method at the reception desk, it is difficult to control the number of people entering and leaving the buildings.
  • Patients and relatives may mistakenly enter the special treatment areas.
  • It is impossible to accurately manage the number of people present in the building in real time.
  • Difficult to manage, when problems occur, it takes a lot of time to recheck data.
  • The level of security is not high.
  • When an emergency occurs, it is difficult to handle it immediately

To solve this problem, the hospital has built new buildings with modern facilities and applied advanced technology to control the number of people coming in and out. This helps to improve the medical examination and treatment process, shorten waiting times for patients, and also control visitors from wandering around the hospital.

  • 84 doors, 14 lifts and about 10,000 users

Duali Vietnam has received the trust from Nhi Dong 1 Hospital to provide access control systems and visitor management solutions for 84 doors and 14 lifts in the 3 new buildings.

The system provides a solution for identifying all people including employees and visitors (patients and their relatives) entering and leaving the hospital using Barcode and fingerprint.

The access of employees in the hospital will be managed by fingerprint. According to this, each employee will only be allowed to enter and exit the designated area after being identified. The employee’s entry and exit history will be recorded in the system.

For visitors, all visitors coming in the building must be identified by the receptionist and get one barcode for their entrance and their access’s history will be recorded in the system. Accordingly, the system provides the following main features:

  • Visitor registers at the receptionist’s desk. The identification of the visitor is associated with his personal information including full name, phone number and the photo of the citizen identification card.
  • Automatically manage visitor’s flow. Accordingly, visitors will only be allowed to enter and exit predetermined areas and lifts.
  • The system only allows 1 barcode to go up at a time. If this barcode hasn’t been used to go down, it cannot be used to go up again, ensuring there is only 1 relative of the patient in the restricted area at any time.
  • Save visitors’ access history for security control.
  • Warning when strangers move within the building.
